Keen and Thornton and these men served as the first trustees of the district. The first teacher was Miss Frankie Boles. Twenty-five years after the first building was erected the school was remodeled and renamed because as teachers began to attend County Teacher Institutes they felt a slight hesitancy in saying, ÒI teach at Frog Hollow.Ó The patrons by common consent decided that New Light would be a much better name for a church and school than the former name, therefore the change in name. This district has land suited to the growth of cotton and grain. The average yield of cotton per acre in 1926 was one-third of a bale. The yield of maize and grain per acre was good.
